About the Role
As a Software Engineer Intern at Hinge Health, you will work on small interdisciplinary teams focused on different parts of the user journey. You will contribute to your team’s success by building proof of concepts and extending well-tested APIs that power our client applications. Interns play a vital role in developing new minor features, reducing technical debt, exploring novel solutions, and ensuring the healthy operation of live sites. Additionally, you will help automate our services end-to-end.

Our technology stack includes Node.js, TypeScript, Nest.js, GraphQL, Docker, React, React Native, Rails, Aptible, AWS, Postgres, Redis, Apollo, and Redux. Our workflow follows a trunk-based CI/CD approach.
What You’ll Accomplish
- Daily Tasks: Tackle small-grained problems using an Agile red/green/refactor workflow.
- Sprint Goals: Build, test, and deploy complete, meaningful minor features.
- Code Review: Review twice as many pull requests as you open daily.
- Monthly Targets: Resolve performance and scaling bottlenecks, balancing feature development with long-term technical investments to keep the platform healthy and elegant.
Basic Qualifications
- Educational Background: Students from software engineering streams (CS, AI, Electronics) starting their final year of Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering/Technology.
- Delivery: Consistent, on-time, high-quality delivery of fine-grained work.
- Domain Expertise: Familiarity with web frameworks like Rails, TypeScript, Node, or serverless solutions in AWS is a plus.
- Problem-Solving: Proven track record of resourceful, iterative solutions and deftly reversible decisions.
