As a Software Quality Engineer in the Azure Storage team, you will play a crucial role in testing and implementing automated testing solutions for highly scalable, high-performance services. Key Responsibilities
- Test Design & Infrastructure Development: Contribute to the identification of dependencies and develop test design documents and test infrastructure with minimal oversight.
- Automation Tools: Design and develop test automation tools, writing automated tests to drive end-user workflows.
- Quality Assurance: Champion product quality, identify defects before they reach customers, and participate in cross-functional debugging and troubleshooting sessions.
- Regression Suites Maintenance: Maintain automated regression suites, run tests, and triage failures.
- Research & Innovation: Research new tools, technologies, and methods to find the best solutions for project requirements.
- DRI Responsibilities: Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), guiding other engineers by developing and following the playbook, monitoring systems/products/services for degradation or interruptions, alerting stakeholders, and initiating actions to restore functionality.
Qualifications
Required:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline with proven experience in coding languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, OR equivalent experience.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Security: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred:
- Advanced Education & Experience: Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with proven coding experience OR equivalent experience.
- Quality Standards: Experience developing or specifying standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness.
- Distributed Systems: Experience building quality products and services, preferably in distributed systems.
